During the post-colonial era, the extension services started facing a number of constraints through poor logistical support. During Amin’s regime these services broke down and at times were taken to have no value at all. Today the traditional extension services are being substituted by the national agricultural advisory services (NAADS). NAADS is still grappling with numerous challenges and at times outright failures because of so many forces behind it including outright political reasons. The communities are left in positions of helplessness.
