KEARWE encourages complementary and supplementary livestock combination activities e.g. cattle and sheep, cattle and pigs e.t.c. This is done in order to maximize effective and efficient inputs’ utilization and maximization of outputs. We encourage rearing of sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits and poultry. It encourages and promotes pasture production balanced with grasses and legumes.
Kearwe has increased the communities’ awareness of the local feeding materials that increase and sustain productivity including the abundant sorghum brewer’s grain that has at times been put to waste as a bye- product from the process of making the local Muramba and Bushera flourishing industry. It has encouraged communities to improve on their commonly available livestock the chicken through better feeding and disease control practices. A number of the community members have now graduated to commercial production.
